YA/YA launches Empower-teer!
This month, YA/YA is launching its volunteer program called Empower-teer. The e-newsletter will be used to list volunteer services needed for each upcoming semester. Through this program YA/YA will build a list of individuals who will strengthen our work in the community. This program will also allow the organization to evaluate potential mentors, guest artists, staff, board members, and even youth participants. If you would like to participate in other ways, please visit our "Get Invovled" webpage.

Good news about old news.
Now you can view past e-newsletter, press releases, and stories on our online news page.

Artist Spotlight

Success Within Success
YA/YA Artist:  Sexton Wright

Sexton Wright has devoted an entire year to working with local kids through YA/YA programs. He returned to New Orleans last summer to work as a production assistant during our first Rethink collaboration, and also designed the YA/YA 2006 Audubon Zoo mural. Sexton has worked as a lead mentor during the past two semester conducting workshops at local middle and high schools. He has also led production on two of YA/YA’s most recent commission projects.

His personal achievements demonstrate the success and empowering capabilities of YA/YA, and we would like to acknowledge his dedication and hard work.

Thanks,

YA/YA is currently seeking a volunteer to assist the administrative staff to organize files, presskits, supplies, and to update our mailing database. If your interested, or know someone who may be interested, please contact Megg Lamb by email at megg@yayainc.com
